The CF Institute is the center for nondegree training and workforce development at College of Central Florida for residents in Marion, Citrus and Levy counties. A CF University Center student can use all the services and facilities that CF student’s use, providing that the CF University Center student has a current and valid CF University Center Identification Card. The primary purpose of CFI is to provide local residents the opportunities to develop skills and abilities for the workplace.
Training is available for entry-level skill development as well as courses to meet the higher level learning needs of professionals. A schedule of available programs is printed twice a year describing courses for all CF campus locations. he CF University Center recognizes the different calendars of each university partner and therefore will remain open even when CF is closed. CF University Center classes will not be affected by a mismatch of holidays, spring breaks, or special closing dates by CF. Note the only exception to this is inclement weather or other emergencies.
When CF is closed due to such circumstances, there will be no CF University Center classes even if the partnering university is open. CF University Center students can receive financial aid from the partnering institution. Some CF University Center partners will use the CF bookstore to allow students to purchase their books on campus.Each college or university partner has its own criteria for admission, as well as requirements for graduation.
CF offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs, including the associate in arts degree that prepares you for work in upper-level degree programs and guarantees transfer to a public university in Florida. After earning an A.A., you can also complete your bachelor’s degree at the CF University Center. CF also offers an honors program for those who excel in the classroom and enjoy closer interaction with their instructors and fellow students.
